Foam concrete is also called foam cement or lightweight concrete and it is one new type of recycled, environmental, energy-saving and low-price building materials with noninflammability. Foamed concrete typically consists of a slurry of cement and fly ash or sand and water, although some suppliers recommend pure cement and water with the foaming agent for very lightweight mixes. This slurry is further mixed with a synthetic aerated foam in a concrete mixing plant. Foam concrete is produced by entraining the air or nitrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen into the concrete paste via the chemical or physical methods. And after the rational curing and molding processes, the foam concrete products with vast fine closed pores and certain strength are produced. The foam is created using a foaming agent, mixed with water and air from a generator. The foaming agent used must be able to produce air bubbles with a high level of stability, resistant to the physical and chemical processes of mixing, placing and hardening. Generally, the production of lightweight concrete(foam concrete) adopts the mechanical method to make aqueous solution of foaming agent into foam.
